You Pick Our Calendar Based on Sign-Ups

Once we have the minimum five people signed up for a subject, we put that class on the next month’s calendar. All classes require prepayment and are non-refundable as this assures the scheduled classes do not get canceled for no-shows. View monthly calendar online for class details.

Food as Medicine Series

Two-hour classes dedicated to your well-being and appetite. Each Food as Medicine class focuses on a particular body system or health concern. Holistic Health Practitioner, Stephanie Austin begins each class with an overview of how each body system works and shows how food can support as well as hinder the balance of that body system. The recipes and topics for each class rotate regularly based on sign ups. Watch the Calendar and sign up for The Wellness Kitchen newsletter for updates. Feel free to suggest a topic. We will do our best to get it on the calendar.

Previous Classes: Inflammation, Weight Management, Heart Health, Immunity, Detoxification, Kidney Health, Adrenal Support, Men’s Health, Low Glycemic Eating, Vegetarian Nutrition for Beginners and Growing Kids.

$35 per person or $30 each if you bring a friend!

3-way Series

Learn to make a key ingredient in three different ways. Ever wonder how to prepare three different quinoa dishes and have each one be delicious? What about kale, cranberries, mushrooms, cauliflower, etc?! Chef Nancy will demonstrate three different recipes using one key ingredient - and all in ONE HOUR!

$25 each

Cancer Fighting Nutrition

A discussion held by Therapeutic Chef, Nancy Walker and Holistic Health Practitioner, Stephanie Austin for those dealing with cancer and/or their caregivers and support teams. We discuss the importance of portion sizes and why a variety of foods is necessary and the significance of nutrient dense as opposed to nutrient empty foods. We look at healthy guidelines to keep from losing weight as well as the importance of and different ways to stay hydrated. It is a beneficial introductory session for all involved. Healing Tea and a nourishing soup will be served and seasoned according to YOUR taste buds.

Suggested donation: $20 - but nobody will be turned away for lack of funds!

Hands-on Cooking Series

Sign up for the 5 week Intro to Wellness Cooking Series with Therapeutic Chef Nancy Walker, held on 5 Saturdays from 10am-1pm.

The series begins with Knife Skills and Pantry Rehabilitation: taste salts, non-dairy milks (and make almond milk!), discuss good fats and oils as well as the sweeteners that are natural, low and high glycemic and mineral rich. Next is Stocks and Soups: learn the benefits of a good base stock and make creamy soups without dairy! Grains, Beans and Greens teaches you how to use a pressure cooker. In the Poultry and Fish class, each student learns how to cut a whole chicken to save money when selecting organic. The finish - Desserts and Snacks. Ever want to make a cheesecake without dairy?!

Hands-on cooking is a fun way to gather friends together and design your own private class. All classes are presented with healthy choices, dairy-free alternatives and gluten-free substitutions. The 3 hour class is limited to 6 guests with daytime, evening and weekends available. Sign up and we
will provide you the tools you need to utilize whole foods in the kitchen.

$65 per class or $300 for all 5!

Raw Food Nutrition Series

What happens when enzymes and nutrients are heated in the cooking  process? How does eating a predominately cooked food diet affect your  immune system? How long do I soak nuts before eating them and how does nutritional value change when sprouting seeds? While enjoying tea and  delicious raw and living food, we will discuss the "hows and whys" of Raw and Living Food and how important it is to eat a minimum of 60-80% raw!

$40 per person or $35 if you bring a friend!
